Rachel Hammond (VON Falls Prevention Kinesiologist) who currently teaches the Thursday morning exercise class at Duff’s, has graciously offered to provide an informational program to help raise awareness for seniors and those who are at risk for falling. It will be a FREE 6 week program that runs twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Topics covered include: chronic illnesses & falls, muscle & bone health, arthritis, blood pressure, hearing & vision, feet & peripheral neuropathy, mental health & brain exercises, medications, home safety, walkers & canes, nutrition, balance plus how to get up from a fall.
Thursday February 27th @ 1:30pm – Movie Afternoon
Our movie will be Oscar nominee “Greenbook” the story of Dr. Shirley a world-class African-American pianist, who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. He hires a driver, Tony Lip and the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation. Come join us for popcorn and fellowship!

Donations Welcomed: the Outreach Community Red Clothesline, supporting the Drop-In Centre & Wyndham House is still accepting donations of new men’s socks, underwear and gently used cold weather items, camping ground tarps. The Centre has specifically requested donations of sugar, coffee whitener, cheese slices, luncheon meats, sandwich fixings (ie. mayo, mustard, etc.), hot dog buns & fresh fruit for their clients to take away with them when the Centre closes at 3pm. Thank you to all who have participated and continue to donate to the Red Clothesline!
Eight Passenger Vehicle Needed by Mary Rife. Once again she is hosting a refugee family, of 7 this time. There has been a delay at the Embassy in Cairo and the family will be arriving within the next few months. She is in need of an 8 passenger vehicle to help transport the family. If you are able to assist please contact Rev. Jane or Mary Rife.
Study of Human Sexuality & Inclusion in the PCC This study program is a resource from the National Presbyterian Church, in response to the initiatives of our General Assembly towards becoming a fully inclusive Church which marries same gender couples & ordains those called from the LGBTQ community. The study will focus on the relevant scriptures & other contributing factors.
